Service & Volunteering

Over a student’s four years in Upper School, it is estimated that the service graduation requirement will add up to 40+ hours of work (though many students do much more!). 9th graders are required to have two off-campus service experiences during the school year. One opportunity is the Partnership for Success (PFS) mentor program, which connects student mentors from local independent schools with 5th-9th grade mentees from Pasadena Unified School District in order to build community and connect in meaningful ways. About 60 Westridge students participate as mentors each year! The application for PFS is available here.

For other opportunities, contact Service & Community Engagement Coordinator Erica St. John at estjohn@westridge.org.

Students in grades 9-12 are required to bring a fully-charged laptop to school every day. We intend that students will use their device frequently throughout the school day and at home for their learning. Laptops should be in good working order, with a fully charged battery.

Upper School students will bring their own laptop that meets the minimum technical specifications listed in our 1:1 Laptop Program brochure.

Tech Orientation

New Upper School students must attend a mandatory New Upper School Student Technology Onboarding on campus on Saturday, April 26 from 2-4 pm. Students should bring their own laptop to this event. Additionally, students must have administrator permission to download apps.
